QCRB Opens 25th Branch in Calauan, Laguna
Quezon Capital Rural Bank, Inc. (QCRB), one of the 10 biggest rural banks in the country, formally opened for business its Calauan Branch on May 19, 2009 at Geirosa Avenue corner Soriano St. of the town’s poblacion.Said branch is QCRB’s 2nd in Laguna and the 25th in its entire branch network, mainly in Quezon Province.
Bank President & CEO, Atty. Edward Leandro Z. Garcia, who was present at the ‘soft opening’ of the branch, announced that in the pipeline are two more branches to be opened in Nagcarlan and Alaminos, Laguna, and another two in Batangas – San Juan Branch and San Jose Branch. He also added that part of its expansion program is the establishment of “Other Banking Offices” (OBO) in smaller but progressive towns in Quezon, Laguna and Batangas where basic electronic banking facilities are not available. The OBOs are to be known as “QCRB e-Banking Center.”“We are pursuing our commitment to bring innovative banking services to the countryside, particularly in areas where commercial banks dare not venture. We believe the countryside has a lot to offer given the opportunity to join and link up with the rest of the financial world,” Garcia added.
“With ATM banking, peso/dollar deposit, loans, e-checking account, international remittance services, foreign currency exchange, online bills payment, internet banking, mobile banking facilities, and many more, QCRB is more than ready to serve the Calauan community and contribute to its continued progress,” declared Ms. Mirasol Mendoza, Calauan Branch Manager.
The formal blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremonies of the branch is set on June 23, 2009 at 3:30pm with no less than the Bishop of the Diocese of San Pablo, Most Rev. Leo M. Drona and Calauan Mayor Vuenafrido T. Berries as among the invited guests. They will be joined by QCRB’s existing and potential clients coming from various groups, professional and business sectors, as well as the QCRB Board headed by its Chairman, Dr. Ciriaco A. Caraos and top bank officials.
